mission mezcal club

We’ve had the idea to start Mission Mezcal Club for a while now. We first fell in love with this spirit when we opened Mission back in 2016, and like any new love, you just want to connect with it on every level and tell the whole world how beautiful it is.

We had plans to host monthly moments where we could gather, and sit, and sip, and let Mezcal do what Mezcal always happens to do: inspire conversation. It was supposed to launch in January 2020, though even before the world shifted on its axis, the well intended seeds we plant don’t always come to fruition in the way we’d hope. So here we are at January 2021 giving it a go, and not in person, but separately together.

Mezcal is an exhaustive topic, and when signing up to lead a class, we wanted to feel at expert level before asking anyone to follow along with us. Fair warning though: while we are certainly enthusiasts, we are by no means experts. We’re treating Mission Mezcal Club more like a book club: Whether you’ve done the required reading or not, it’s really about getting together and drinking. Only there is no required reading! There will be thorough information included in each delivery, and you can get as geeky with it as you’d like, but our aim is to send you different Mezcals every month to explore the wonders of this incredible spirit. You can enjoy them on your own, nerd out with friends, or join in on virtual tastings we’ll be holding along the way.

Mission Mezcal Club is a 101 course. We’ll be starting with the basics, teaching you what we know, and sharing what we’ve learned from people with far more experience than us. We’ll be using our connections and relationships to provide you rare and unique selections that are pretty hard to come by, all while honoring and celebrating artisan producers from across Mexico.

As some of these spirits are quite rare, MMC is starting off with extremely limited membership. As our program grows we hope to be able to bring more of you along for the ride, but we’re starting small to deliver the best possible product to you. We hope you’ll join us.
